kinda makes me think its a contrast between the old and new forms of music. Hand written music notes v digital music. instrument playing v just listening. I agree that B&W adds so much to this photo. Also, is that a love heart drawn by finger on the ipod screen?
I like the black and white aspect to it. If you had done it in colour, it would have just been another photo but in black white, the grains in the wood take on a whole new visual feeling and the music sheet becomes more dated and romantic. Everything always looks more expressive in black and white. If you had a photo-editing program you could have blurred out the rug to give it more focus. I read on your front page that you wanted a better camera so it probably lacks DOF. I learned that from my aint who likes to take pictures. It's where the Depth Of Field blurs out what is non-essential, like the rug in this case. I really like this though, it really captures your desire to be a songwriter and all the tools are right there. Music to inspire, pen and paper. Nicely done.
